Hi all,

I'm hoping to get away at the end of the summer for a few weeks and what better way to do it than cycling across a part of Europe?!

My plan is to cycle from the UK to Italy, mainly to get to cross the Alps. I want to go from Dieppe through the NE of France, through Switzerland and then finish off in Italy.

I'd like to organise my route so that I pass through as many interesting/beautiful/good food producing areas as possible! If any of you have any tips regarding this I'd really appreciate it. Also, where to end up in Italy as I'm going to be lazy and fly back, so i'll need to book this in advance.

Thanks in advance,

Duncan

Duncangood luck for your plans.
I think if you want stop in Italy and come bavk in flight you can finish near in Lumbardy, near Lake of garda or lake of Iseo, becuase is beautiful place, near alps and near airports which Ryanair flight to Uk, or Varese zone, near lake of maggiore, near big airport in Milan.

We crossed from France via the Jura's (and a lovely town called Ornans) into Switzerland, through Geneva over the Alps at Great St Bernards pass and down into Italy - great descent where I managed 116kmph. Down to the NW coast followed it down to Tuscany, inland to Pisa, Sienna and through the rolling hills of Tuscany before heading into Rome. Back along the western coast line before heading directly east to the east coast and again downwards along the coast to Brindisi. Fantastic views, food and coffee all the way, not to mention great people!

Can give you more details on the route if you like, just email me.

Hello,

I saw your thread posted about cycling from England to Brindisi. I notice dyour thread was a while ago! But I was wondering if you could tell me how long it took you, and if you had much time to stop over on the way?

Thanks so much

David
