how much of a disadvantage are these two types of shifters. I found a bike that i like for really cheap and the only thing i don't like about it are the non integrated shifters. should i just find a different bike or are the shifters alright?

My commuter has down tube shifters and whereas I prefer my Campy Ergos on my other bike, the downtube ones cause no problems.
