Rest and 20' Intervals
I have been doing some 3x20's lately on the CT, and find that when I am doing indoor intervals, I do not adjust my position at all for the entire 20'. I have been getting off the bike for 1-3' after I complete the interval, stretch the legs and back, then get back on and spin for 5', then start the next 20' interval. I find this really helps, as I am not stopping early because of a sore butt. When I ride outdoors it is not a problem because I am constantly shifting position, and can ride outdoors for hours.
Is getting off the bike between intervals detracting from the my goal of raising FTP?

...Is getting off the bike between intervals detracting from the my goal of raising FTP?No, it's time in level that counts, not time spent resting or recovering. If you don't tighten up and don't have trouble staying loose with a few minutes off the bike then don't worry about it.

And as RapDaddyo would say: you can go home and have a cup of tea between intervals if you so wish. :D
