I've got a fairly extensive collection of listings of US national champions and at one point I was
thinking I would scan and OCR it and make it available on the internet. Except scanning and OCR'ing
required a lot of time to clean up the format and it just ain't going to happen.
So what I've decided to do instead is just scan the hard copy and leave it at that.
One of my sources is the "7-Eleven/Bicycling Magazine Grand Prix Training Manual II". It was
published in 1984 and has results from the US and Canadian national championships for track racing
along with results from Track Worlds and Junior Worlds from 1977-1983.
Also included are results from stuff like the 7-11 Grand Prix and the first National
Sports Festival.
This is an interesting period because that was the end of the pre-aero era, and you see guys taking
medal at Worlds with times that today you see at state championships.
