Cog and Chain wear
I was woundering should i replace my chain after say 5000km, as it is
probably stretched, cost only $30 odd.
Then that will help reduce the wear of the cogs. as they are dearer
this will help them last longer.

Thanks

Why not measure it and find out? All you need is a ruler.

It might still be OK after 5000km depending possibly on how clean you
kept it and what gears you use the most.

I think that is the idea. If you replace chains soon enough, the cogs
are supposed to last the lifetime of several chains.
