Octalink - FSA Crank - Chorus 10sp --Will it work ?

My LBS is building me up a new Bike with FSA Carbon Cranks, and they swear the Octalink BB is the way to go. However, my Groupset is Chorus 10sp.

What I'm guessing they're doing is using an Octalink Splined set of arms with Campy compatible 10sp Chainrings ??

I've only ever used Campag, so excuse my ignorance.

There are different (non-shimano / non-campag) chainrings for use with Shimano and Campagnolo components, Right ? (Logic says different Chains call for different Chainrings ?)

I'm working away at the moment and figured this would be a great way to get independent answers !

Thanks.

Well my best friend and riding buddy (a two time greek champion in the under 18 class) is riding a Trek 1500 with full Campagnolo Record and FSA cranks. The set-up is great, the bike excellent but he can't get rid of a noise coming out of the BB. We tried everything but it still sounds like it's very dry. Another riding buddy with the same configuration (different frame) experiences the same problem. I ride a 1500 as well with full 105 but my cassette is Campagnolo and the chain too. No major problems there I just have to be a bit persistant shiftin gears.
What I can say is that different components will work ok but if you want the perfect shifting or performance you should stick to components by the same company.
If you already bought the stuff, just put them on and enjoy!

Sok.
