So the entire point of this thread is for a cyclist to denigrate a professional rider's ability? Only a person who has never achieved jack squat would create such a thread. Sadly, this forum seems to be populated with quite a few of these negative people. Add in a dose of blatant jealous haters of certain nations, one even a moderator, and a few obsessed with only talking of doping and what does this forum have? About 10 "regulars" and an amazing amount of transients that get sick of the crap and move on to somewhere more positive. Time for me to move on.
Amen!

Try this site. It has a few of the same type of characters. But a much, much smaller percentage.

How did you reach that absurd conclusion?

How bad would Tommy D suck if he didn't have Dr Ferrari?

How did you reach that absurd conclusion?Read his interviews. Also, he should be riding as a domestique, but considers himself a team leader.

It looks like Tommy D. is still stinking up the joint. He was on the start list for San Sebastian. No finish. I guess his busy amateur race schedule in Colorado was not the greatest preparation for racing with the big boys.

Take it easy on Tommy. He has had diarrhea for three years straight (see link). But as I said in another thread he looked pretty good at The Tour of California and Georgia last year. Maybe he had Pepto Bismol in his water bottle for those races.

Thats cos TommyD couldn't stomach the blood doping...... stomach cramps are a sure sign of blood doping.....It's not entirely Lil' TD's fault. He won Tour of Langkwai and was suddenly on the cover of English US/UK cycling mags being lauded as the next Lance. For a Euro rider to get this next big thing treatment he usually has to win Paris Nice or Tirreno Adriatico or something similar. He was hyped but that's not his fault - he's hardly likely to turn round and say, "actually I'm half the man you think I am, please cut my salary in half." And let's give him the benefit of the doubt (please Bro/WBT, just try!) - let's suppose that:
a) he really hasn't ever doped, that would explain his not fulfilling that promise. I mean, if USPS doping can make Hincapie a climber, then why can't it make a climber like Lil TD into a super climber?
b) this parasite he's supposed to have had for his entire time on Lance's team has actualy been the cause of all his below expectation performances. Now it's diagnosed and cured he's going to be flying - just like at San Sebastian where he didn't finish.

He does look like a retard though, there's no denying that, and it can't be blamed on a parasite.

I'm trying but after reading Tommy D's book I think he maybe a couple of cans short of a six pack....

Brasstown Bald Blend
Medium-dark, full-bodied, spicy, a little earthy.
Brasstown Bald Blend gave Tom that extra little boost to victory.
The peak of Brasstown Bald is the highest point in Georgia. “The Bald” is one of the steepest climbs in the United States with pitches over 20% that test the will and legs of any top professional rider.
In the 2005 Tour de Georgia, Tom rode away from the field on the slopes of Brasstown Bald, sealing his overall victory in the race. The following year, Tom once again proved this was his mountain by winning the Brasstown Bald stage ahead of rival Floyd Landis.
Elevation gain: 2250 feet. Length: 3.1 miles. Average grade: 14%
12 oz. Bag

Iron Horse Blend
Tom's Iron Horse Blend captures the heart of the West. A bold blend and rich aroma will have you saddling up for more.
The Iron Horse Bicycle Classic is the fourth oldest road race in the US. The record was set by Tom Danielson in 2003 at 1:58. Tom broke the seven year-old record set by Jonathan Vaughters in 1996. avg speed 23.9 mph, elevation gain: 6005 ft for 47 miles. Top elevation: 10,800 ft.
12 oz. Bag

Madone Blend
Medium roast, medium-bodied, fruit-like fragrance.
Lance's record on this climb is old history thanks to Tom!
The Col de la Madone is a 7.5 mile climb that starts in the French village of Menton. It rises from close to sea level to over 3000 feet.
Lance Armstrong has made this mountain famous by timing himself to the top each year just prior to the start of the Tour de France. His goal was to break 31 minutes. He did so in 1999 and went on to win his first Tour. Six years later, Tom broke Lance’s record by 23 seconds. Many other top professionals have recorded times on the Madone and other than Lance’s time, none come within a minute of Tom’s record.
Elevation gain: 2850 feet. Length: 7.5 miles. Average grade: 7%
12 oz. Bag

Mt Ventoux Blend
You will climb faster after a cup of this one!
Dark roast, smooth, full-bodied and chocolaty with a bit of spice.
The mountain has become legendary in Tour de France history and has oftentimes decided the overall race.
Elevation gain: 5282 feet. Length: 13.5 miles. Average grade: 7.6
12 oz. Bag

Mt. Evans Blend
Medium Dark, Full-bodied, rich aroma ,smooth.
Tom's Mt. Evans Blend is as bold as the Colorado mountain it's named after. Have a cup before heading out on your climbing adventure - whatever that might be!
It is a daunting task to reach the top by bike. The road climbs 6500 vertical feet in 28 miles. The climb is not particularly steep, but the sheer length, altitude, exposure, and weather make summiting the mountain an accomplishment in itself.
Tom’s record of 1:41:20 set in 2004, was over 4 minutes faster than the previous record that stood for 12 years. This is truly remarkable given the horrendous weather that day and the fact that the second place finisher and 6 time winner of the event, Scott Moninger came across the line almost 9 minutes behind Tom.
Elevation gain: 6500 feet. Length: 28 miles. Average grade: 5.5%. Top Elevation: 14,000 feet and the highest paved road in the United States.
12 oz. Bag

Mt. Washington Blend
Dark Roast, full-bodied , low acid, robust, smooth
Tom's Mt. Washington Blend is a dark, rich, and robust coffee. It's perfect for those chilly early morning rides.
The World Record Wind of 231 miles per hour has become the stuff of legend. So too has Tom’s record ascent of this mountain. In 2002, Tom broke the previous record set by Tyler Hamilton by 57 seconds. His time of 49:24 is the only recorded time under 50 minutes in the history of the race.
Elevation gain: 4727 feet. Length: 7.6 miles. Average grade: 12%; extended portions, 18%, final 50 yards, 22%, 35% of the road is very hard packed gravel and 65% is paved.

12 oz. BagLove the inclusion of Ventoux. Has he even ever ridden it? I have, maybe I should get a coffee blend in memory? Sweating despite the pissing rain, thanking the gods that the wind seemed to be behind me on the steepest sections - Rolf's Ventoux blend is piss-weak and best served cold with a mouldy energy bar.

Brokeback Mountain Iron Horse Blend
Tom's Iron Horse Blend captures the heart of the West and deepest dark Texas. A bold blend and rich aroma will have you saddling up for more and more and more and more until you bite on your own tongue in pain of being shagged hard up the date by overweight Belgium man whilst being held down by an egomaniacal Texan. Not for the timid.

The Brokeback Mountain Iron Horse Bicycle Classic is the fourth oldest road race in the US. The record was set by Tom Danielson in 2003 at 1:58 with only 3 pints of blood injected the week prior. Tom broke the seven year-old record set by Jonathan Vaughters in 1996. avg speed 23.9 mph, elevation gain: 6005 ft for 47 miles. Top elevation: 10,800 ft.

So Pfannenberger stopped and gave birth to Bro Deal. Danielson was way ahead of him until Danielson cramped. As a result Pfannenberger took the lead in the GC. Then Danielson kicked his ass big time in the ITT. After the Sound and the Fury, the results are the same. Danielson won the tour. Pfannenberger, Bro Deal, White Trash and cyclist were left bawling their eyes out and trying to come up with a way to spin the whole thing. Too bad loosers. Live with it!Geebus christ! Thats the biggest star studded field I've seen since the TOUR DE FRANCE!! TOMMYD IS A GOD!!!

This quote from Danielson on Velonews: "You never know, racing is so difficult. I'd love to ride well at the Vuelta; what well is, we'll have to see. I suspect I'll do better at the Vuelta than in Germany."

He has stopped talking the talk, eh? "what well is"...?! "Well" by Pro Tour team leader standards would be top ten at the very least, well by my standards would be finishing within the time cut, by my three day old neice standards, well would be burping and pooing, but no bike riding. I guess he's just lowering expectations so people can't say he failed if he bombs. Is this guy going to be on the team next season? If so, will he be riding or washing bikes? I'm going to look at the cover of his book that WBT posted to cheer me up. :)

Several things:

-- Danielson described himself as having recovered from a life-threatening stomach condition (two parasites/bugs that he picked up several years ago when he won the Tour of Langkawi). Give me a break.

-- One of the great things about AC winning the Tour is that AC is so much younger than TD and TD hopefully will no longer claim that he is a "young" cyclist. Another of the great things is that Bruyneel and LA are not stupid -- they will soon see TD for what he is and also see him as a "suck up" to LA only :D

-- I hope Braj and/or even Devolder beat up TD and make TD work for them as domestique who can go for a mountain stage win only, subject to Braj and Devolder being helped.
