Nice cydewaze. I am a big fan of the "permanent trainer" bike. Mine is red too :) I have an old cannondale frame with all sorts of different stuff thrown onto it. My collection of odd things from over the years. It certainly isn't pretty either, but does the trick. These days with my limited time, it's often either ride inside or don't ride at all. SO, I still put quite a few miles on that old thing.
Cool beans! I have this thing about cycling components and that unless it's something minor (like a skewer) it should be on a bike. So it irked me to have a complete Dura Ace group sitting around in a box. Thus, Frankenbike.

Well I must admit, Frankenbike is much prettier than my permanent trainer bike . . . which doesn't really merit a name. Don't get me wrong, after putting so many miles on the thing over the years I have great affection for it. But, the groupo is a mishmash of stuff that doesn't come close to Dura Ace.

Now, on the opposite end of the spectrum from craigstanton's bike, I present "Frankenbike". A cheap POS I'm about done making out of a $199 Supergo frame and a slew of leftover parts I had lying around. Once I get some cable housing, slap the chain on, and wrap the bars, I'll be good to go.
It ain't pretty, but it was fun to build, and it helps clean out all my parts boxes. Actually, I'm building this bike to permanently mount on my indoor trainer, to save me hauling my bike up the stairs.
Geesh, it ain't pretty? I mean, the frame is not exactly a Colnago or something, but I wish my beater had a Dura Ace gruppo, Speedplay pedals and carbon Spinergys. The only components I have "laying around" are rigid mountain bike forks and bar ends!
My beater is a beach bike/cruiser with a basket!

LOL! Well, I have the Dura Ace stuff because it used to by on my main bike, before I upgraded to 9-sp (which I did because the front shifter only works some of the time). The Speedplays were also on my other bike, and they're worn out pretty well. They will probably need to be replaced with Zeros so both bikes match.
I got the wheels for cheap cheap from a friend, because she was too light for them (the cross-winds were kicking the crap out of her). The only thing I had to buy was the frame/fork/headset ($199 from Supergo), a seat, and the TT bars.

Mine is a Giant OCR3. Just swap the pedals to a clipless ones, and it looks similar to mine and yes I can go very fast on it (or maybe I'm a fast rider :D )

My Bike, the CANNONDALE R2000 TRIPLE.
Beauty isn't it.
Lovely bike indeed. Look after it! I understand Cannondale are a fine bike. I've always wondered who makes the best bike, but I guess it's the rider that makes the difference in the end!
You know I still don't know the difference between a road bike and a triathlon bike. They look differece in appearence but I can't see the difference in function!

Kestrel Talon, In the tri setup. I changed it to a road setup last year and put wider handlebars and a triple. Also moved the seat to the rear position.
