I don't know why the photo didn't show up, but here's another try
Wow, I would love to see a bigger pic of that bike! I had a couple Reynolds frames and loved them.

Hey, Gav, pleased to speak again.
What's a Laverda?
By the way, if you're into classics, would you be able to identify mine?
It's on this thread, post #717.
It's Italian, but I don't think it's a Bottechia. That's about all I know.
Speak soon,
f.

Hi All,

I'm a new registeree to the site so I thought I'd better say "Hello". I've been reading the posts for a while, but figured it was time to jump in! So, here I am. By way of tribute to all those who came before me I thought I'd offer some "bike porn". I've just finished building my new bike, so here are some pics for anyone who's interested.

At the moment I'm working on a shoulder injury that's kept me off the bike since January! I needed a reason to keep doing the physio, and it made sense to build a "goal bike" that I'd look at, and want to ride. Wanting to ride would make me want to get better, and so I'd keep up the exercises. At least, that's what I said to my missus, and she gave me "the look", and then said "Ok". :-)

I'm a little bored with all the black bike componentry, so I went silver with this one. It's took a while to source some of the components I wanted in a silver finish, but I got there in the end! I also avoided carbon fiber componentry (except for the fork, of course), just for a change, really. Although I did go for "carbon-look" handlebar tape, because it looks nice and I'm that contrary! :-)

picture of bike in action, then a side shot and a front shot - just took the still shots with my phone in my office - yes the bike was on top of someone's desk. giant tcr (I'm afraid I don't know what model it is but I got the frame this year), Chorus shifty bits, Reynolds tubular wheels (the best sprint wheels imho), an old Mavic bar (like the shape), ritchey stem, hand-me-down cranks + BB + pedals, Ultegra calipers (because they were available "right now"), regular thompson post and the titanio 200 seat (my fave seat). 16.5 lbs as weighed by a local shop without the lights. I'm really picky about my bikes and almost always have something I wish I could change (shorter chainstay, longer tt, lower stem, etc) but I'm really happy with this bike and just want a second for a spare.

action pic is from April 2005, the fourth race - fourth ride outside - first win - on the bike. I'm on the right in the pic :)

Fondriest Carb Level. Nice, smooth and unique...

Very nice. I ride the Fondriest Status (steel). I have a serious jones for some of the newer carbon frames they have out, but I choose to stay married at this point.

Just like this except I did mine with Mavic Elites and Ritchie neck and bars. selle Itallia seat. Ultegra all over instead of the Dura Ace. I like money and things that work more than kewl names.
Wonder why the attachment doesn't show up?
