My new bike for commuting
I finally managed to have the money to pick up a brand new bike to use for commuting. At least the bare bones of it. I don't have fenders or a rack yet, but that'll be happening soon enough. Anyways, I ended up going with this beauty. I'll be posting pictures of my actual bike soon, I just haven't had a chance to get to my camera yet.

Nice bike dude.
Yeah, fenders would be a good addition and some nice slick tyres.
Will be good to see pictures when you get to post them. Always nice to drool over someone elses kit (and I don't mean that to be rude :p)

I was surprised because the knobby tires don't feel bad at all. Especially since there is some single-track around here that I would have to go through. Not to mention that the roads around here are in awful condition.

Cool color! I actually painted my electric bass guitar that color, I love it.
I am personally resurrecting a late 80's white Schwinn Super Sport for my new commute to my first teaching job in downtown Indianapolis! ~16mi: 30% neighborhoods and 70% greenway, can't wait!
Love the fixie, I'd go for one, but there's one really big hill (yes there are a few in IN) that rules it out, at least for now.

Hi,
I wondering, why did you opt for a fixed gear?

To answer the questions...
My name is Dan. I am a guy. And actually, the bike isn't fixed-gear. Only single-speed as it has a freewheel. When I went to the LBS that I bought it from, the guy suggested it for the very fact that it's basically the simplest setup and very easy to repair/hard to break.
To be completely honest, a couple months after purchasing, I stopped riding altogether due to a heightening of gang violence happening on the route that I was taking and I didn't know of an alternative route. But... that is all changing again. In the past couple weeks, I got the fenders, finally. And just today I was at a different LBS to find out if it would even accept a rack. And it did! So I had the guy install it as it involved some bending of the rack frame due to the wide wheels on my bike. Also finally got a frame pump, patch kit, and tire lever. Just need to get a couple of spare tubes when I have money again. Which will be in the next week.
And here is the picture I promised a while ago. It was taken with my camera phone though, so be gracious.
