anyone know anything about them? are they good for the price? They will work fine. I used Nashbar's $19.95 clipless pedals (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=6000108&subcategory=60001078&brand=&sku=8863&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=Shop%20by%20Subcat%3A%20ATB%20Clipless%20Pedals) for over a year before switching to Crank Brothers pedals. Speaking of Crank Brothers, they are top notch and I highly recommend their pedals. Here are a few for just a bit more money:

The Smarty has a platform. I like the platform because I feel it gives me support.

I am a road biker, and I use Crank Bros Candy C. It has the platform and it is slightly lighter than the Smarty. Ultimately, it does not make that much difference, decide on your preferences. http://www.blueskycycling.com/product2456_SPECIAL_-Crank-Brothers-Candy-C-Pedals.htm

I did have the the Nashbar Ventoux first, but the bearings wore out in a year and there was no way to lube them. http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=6000108&subcategory=60001123&brand=&sku=14540&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=Shop%20by%20Subcat%3A%20Road%20Clipless%20Pedals
