Well whats your price range? start from there. Also how often will you be riding it and for what purpose?

for that price range there really isn't much... the ones in that price range are usually something you would find in k mart, wall mart, or sports authority. Although the best beginner road bike would be the trek 1000 a little more then your 400 maximum at about 510, but it is still a great bike for what you pay for it
