Re. Documentary:
I'm not sure these characters are going to let you peel back the onion, let alone reveal an interesting personality/story underneath. HV keeps everyone at a distance, rarely even entering a discussion, unless it involves a put down.Yeah, that whole dying for your beliefs is a tough nut.
I wonder about loons like HV. Usenet used to have the Usenet Kook of the Month awards. The thing that always got me was that some of the winners had been carrying on for years. Mike Vandeman comes to mind. He has been on a one man crusade against mountain bikes for at least ten years. He is still at it. I have a hard time coming up with a good explanation--other than mental illness--for why these guys would put so much effort into their trolling.
Someone could make a fascinating documentry film about these sorry sacks. I am thinking of something in the vein of Trekkies.

You have my real photo (darn it!!) so there goes the element of surprise.
Relax, I'm no stalker. You might think about a disguise though as cycling dorks outnumber nice ladies on this site I guess by about 200:1. And I'd put a "Nike Sux" jersey on just to be safe with you-know-who.:)
Sorry about the home town reference. I just guessed that from your ToM post. I'm accustomed unfortunately to it getting quiet here in Seattle when the east and midwest go to sleep. Darn it!! Now I've blown my cover. I hope you're not the stalker type. Long way to go for that though.Ok, you're scaring me now. I already broke my solemn promise to never reveal details about where I live or anything, but the Tour of Missouri blew all that. Now that you have my real photo, what's to stop you from stalking me? Besides my big dog, my big husband, and his big gun, I mean.
Don't make me quote Scripture at you! :D

Did I mention that I am a pretty big deal in Japan?
Why can't he be banned on suspicion (its pretty obvious) that he is a previously banned member. With the caveat apology that it may be a wrongful association, the wrongfully accused member can be encouraged to rejoin under another username. That would give moderators the carte blanche to ban on circumstantial evidence. This guy would be able to come back but the first time he posts another idiosynchratic message - Kaboom, he's banned again with the same message (wrongful accusation apology) from the moderator.
What a mess that would be. After the initial positive for Prozac, he could be put under suspension. Assuming he requested a testing of the B sample, the matter would be remanded to a hearing conducted by USADAA, under the rules specified by WADAA (wold anti 'doping accuser' association). There would be counter charges that the French lab had it's head up it's ass during the testing, which is probably where it belongs.
Already, people are being banned from the forum strictly due to suspicion of doping accusations, the justification being that it is wrong to shout 'doper' in a crowded peloton. Long time posters insist that they've never falsely accused a rider of doping, a statement that rings hollow as newbies complain that they can't break into the top ranks of posting without casting at least some groundless doubt.
This, coming on top of Operation Putrid, which revealed that fully half of the posters here have secretly harbored doping suspicions against riders not on their favorite team, and the majority have expressed those opinions with the full knowledge that there was no basis in fact, bolstered with transfusions of bullshit. It has become so bad that spectators at the Tour de Absurdity have been seen waving colostomy bags at the most prolific posters.
Already, the furor has caused Preparation H to reconsider it's sponsorship, and the entire sport of cycling witch hunting is in crisis. The chairman of WADAA, Dick Head, continues to throw out accusations of doping accusations almost at random, while the head of the UBI (union bullshitters international), Pat McButt, talks of instituting a zero turd policy, and mandatory enemas before each thread.
Yeah, it's a boring day at the office.

All the really interesting topics are covered by my blog, I save most of my creative writing for that.
Floyd may be doing the Diablo Challenge this year - could be his first race (non USCF/UCI) post aquittal... or maybe not.
I don't live in the Castro and I don't look anything like my avatar but I had it first.

If you are interested, the turnout and the support for the race was phenomenal, apparently much more than the teams expected. So cycling isn't dead in the US; we are excited to actually see it.
That being said, the television news virtually ignored it, which blew me away considering they shut down half of downtown for the race. They spent a full 30 minutes discussing the both the Rams (football) and the Cardinals (baseball) LOSING, but they don't have 5 minutes for the Tour.
Big crowds everywhere for it, though. We were blessed with phenomenal weather for the week, so that helped. I look forward to it being an annual event. I figured I wouldn't see Hincapie racing in it again, but since he won, he was asked if with T-Mobile, what were the chances he would come back to defend his title, and he grinned and said "very good!"
So that would be great. I never expected to see any European cycling teams, like, ever, and this is a very exciting and unexpected development for the Midwest.
Dam it... I keep thinking you're Diablo Scott.
I am glad the race is going well. Will this be an annual event ?

You know what guys and gals ??? I think we are buried in this thread with the unassuming title and the thread killing trolls are bypassing us.
We've managed to get to several pages without a "cow blood" train wreck hitting us.

I find the little hip-thrusting thingie particularly disturbing. In a positive manner, of course.

Yes! Missouri spent tons of money and really bent over backwards to make it a good event, rolled out the red carpet for the teams, crowds big everywhere. The riders seemed genuinely surprised by the support and at least said they liked the course. Check out the website at www.tourofmissouri.com (http://www.tourofmissouri.com) I think if it had been poorly organized and did not go well, they wouldn't have wanted to do it again, but it sounds like it should only grow in the future. And maybe T-Mobile will make an appearance next year. That would be amazing.
