Food Network has gone downhill.agreed. I used to watch it all the time just to learn how to cook new things. Now couldn't care less about most of their shows. Still like Alton Brown - but the old shows only. Don't watch foodTV anymore.

Did you ever see the one when Alton Brown was talking about harvesting wild mushrooms...and a guy dressed like the Grim Reaper was following him around? It was so funny. And he said, "Death looks about as much like me as Brad Pitt, so if you don't want your liver dissolving into slimy goo, don't risk it...." or something like that.
I became addicted to the food network when I was feeding babies in the middle of the night and nothing else was on...I don't watch it much now either. Or anything else, really...

I've discovered how to cut down markedly on the amount of time wasted on TV so you can waste it on Cycling Forums instead.
Here's what you do:
1. You first buy two TV's about 5 years ago, not flat screens, just the hugest MF'ing tube TV's that weigh more than a cast iron bathtub each.
2. Then you move house and have the five line-backers that help you move, locate the TV's strategically so that from that day onwards, they are always not in the perfect place.
3. Then you invite your brother-in-law plus family over in summer, and resolve to switch the downstairs and upstairs TV's while your linebacker brother-in-law is here.
4. Then you forget about it until 20 mins before they are leaving for the airport.
5. Then you move the heaviest TV's in existence and place them into the respective entertainment units WITHOUT connecting the cables first.
6. And then your brother-in-law has to leave.
7. And then three months later, you still have two TV's that don't work.

okay nns get to typingDid you sense the growing meglamania in my post?
It is really only Bro Deal who worries about the numbers. What does the post count mean anyway? Nothing when you consider the quality of posts exemplified by the one I'm writing now. It only makes for fun banter, and I think Bro Deal does keep stats. He is very disciplined in getting his 6-7 posts a day. Whereas some of us are very undisciplined and get 6-7 posts before breakfast. Not particularly informative. But contributive in some ways to keeping the board active during the off-season.
There that's 997.

You don't think Cranky...lives in his mom's basement do ya? ;)If I did - I'd have to be the fittest goddam sexiest hunk of a basement dweller ever known to the Society of Basement Dwellers Still Living With Their Mothers [President - Thomas Morris esq.]
And really modest too.
I couldna help it :o

When you consider that my Mum lives in Australia, and houses there don't have basements, at least in the part where she lives, then it is unlikely I live in my Mum's basement.
I live in my Grandmother's basement. But its not what you think. We sleep in separate beds. On weekdays.
