OK. Everyone. I have a confession to make. Every post of nnsI400 after the "sizzlin" one (inclusive - which was post#1146) was my spoof. In hindsight it was not real funny. I am of the opinion that NNS will never speak to me or post converse with me again.
I humbly apologize for my sleazy, unkind, and unempathetic behaviour NNS.

Hey, there is a bambi over at DP with 492 posts.
Her mojo is a lot smaller than mine.

I even managed to dupe Edie in the Bobke thread, which, while on a personal level gave me satisfaction that I could actually play cross-gender roles after last night's clumsy attempt, must have hurt NNS.
It was also very cruel and wrong to compromise someone's integrity for cheap humor. I thought NNS was going to pick up on it in minutes, but the ruse lasted for 4 hours, because that's how long it took NNS to log in.

Here's an appropriate "dying" thread topic:
Evel Knievel died today....
Discuss...
He should have kept the two wheels and dropped the motor. He said his death would be "glorious".
I say mine will suck,at least for me it will. He would have been remembered better if he had died attempting the Grand Canyon ...I mean Snake River Jump.
He was a cool dude in his day and as far as I know still holds a few records, mostly for sustained injuries.
George Hamilton is still kicking and still looks good for an old guy.
I will remember EK as he makes that ultimate jump.
I myself want to make a record jump over 22 UCI members with a steam roller.

I remember seeing an Evel Kneival movie once. It was cheesetastic, almost as good as the KISS movie.

I guess this time he went up a little higher than he expected. Or maybe he went down. Supposedly he was not a very nice guy.
I was a little surprised he was 69. He looked like he was 89.
He was a nut...not just a thrill seeker. I saw some documentary about him, with a lot of interviews with him (geez, I'm starting to sound like Carrera). I think he was crazy even before he got a few knocks to the head.
He claimed he used to rob banks or something, cracking safes or some story, for thrills, but decided to do the stunt thing instead so he didn't end up in jail.
Anyway, he just died a sick old man, and you're right...69 isn't even that old.

I was a little surprised he was 69. He looked like he was 89.He was supposed to be a real nasty SOB. Still, without a doubt, the guy was one of my biggest childhood heroes. I used to spend hour after hour riding my bmx bike over a ramp made from a cinderblock and plywood. Day after day, month after month just imitating Evil.
I got my kids the Evil wind-up toy last year for Christmas and it was a real big hit. The thing that amazed me was that it was exactly the same toy as I remember from 1975. As if they had a whole bunch left over in a warehouse for the last 30 years and just put them in a new box.
It was nice to see the doll again after all of these years. My original Evil doll perished in an ill conceived and executed stunt involving burning gasoline. Kind of like all of the real Evil's stunts.
Some Evil trivia: Much of the Ceasar's Palace video was shot by Linda Evans from Dynasty: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYGGCVE2lKY

Flicked through that "Outside" magazine at Barnes & Noble tonight Bro. See what you mean. Does that mean outdoor men are now predominantly gay? Or does it mean "Outside" now refers to "Outside the Box".
Also Richard Branson was on two covers. "Outside" and "Adventure" I think. Maybe they sell front cover pictures now to rich celebrities. Branson would pay for it. He payed for a cameo on "Friends" by flying the whole TV crew over for free.
Cycle Sport America's front cover is "Dope-Free France". Hmmm.....
Have to read.

I haven't picked up an "Outside" mag for a while. I let my subscription lapse when I found it too embarrassing to be seen reading it. Branson on the cover is ridiculous. I think the month before Bear Gryllis was on the cover. The magazine has become a joke. Maybe Tom Cruise will be next.

Current movies. Anyone seen The Mist or No Country for Old Men?
The Mist was one of my favorite Stephen King stories. The movie is directed by the same director who did other King films like The Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile.
The Coen brothers always make interesting movies, so I expect NCfOM to be good.

The Evel Knievel figure from my wind up chopper jump set never survived the 'thrown over the powerlines out the front of mum and dads house' stunt in about 1978. I always thought Evel was a softcock after that.

He was such a big celebrity that, when I was a young kid, our whole school stopped to watch him rocket blast over Snake River (which never eventuated from memory). It was like the moon landing, and this was in Australia!

jhusk - that steam roller stunt over 22 UCI members has been accomplished already I believe. (LMAO on your line BTW). But no one has ever done it without ramps. So that might be worth trying.

The Coen brothers always make interesting movies, so I expect NCfOM to be good.I use that rottentomatoes.com site for all my movie reviews and to see if a film is worth maybe seeing.
The fresh rating for The Mist is 69% critics positive and the link is: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/mist/
and No Country For Old Men, 96% of critics are positive on the film and the link is: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/no_country_for_old_men/
I suspect you already use this site as its quite popular.
