By the way, just so we're clear, I didn't live in Greek Town or Frat Row. I joke, but the sorority thing was a bit much for me and I really wasn't all into that. Don't want to leave the wrong impression. :)
Which is just what somebody who did live in Greek Town or Frat Row would say.:D

I never denied being Greek. Just said I never lived in Greek Town or on Frat Row. ;) Third largest Greek system in the nation at the time my friend so I wasn't alone in that regard.

By the way, what's up with the trip down memory lane today. This forum really is dying, huh, lol?Well you see, we have over 1300 posts in here, and whilst we aspire (as a humorous by-product of our efforts) to beat the Aussies and their thread about nonsense, it is very difficult to come up with new ideas when there is basically only a few of us, and we keep most of our personal details close to our chest. The TAN thread is full of "what I did today" and "How's your lovely wife?" because a lot of them know each other personally. In any case, we have gone through our top 50 movies and favorite TV shows and what we're doing for Christmas, so it comes down to current affairs, Bro bringing us interesting new topics, some jovial flirt banter, and new talent coming in like yourself.
What would be great would be if many of the GT Forum posters would just drop by here anytime with a casual post or conversation whenever they felt like it, rather than going to the "Bike Cafe" and posting with strangers. So the attempt was for this thread to be the coffee shop hang-out for anyone in this GT forum. Not for it to be the cranky-nns-Bro-Edie thread.
Anyway, I think I'll start a thread just making it known that everyone is welcome to come in here and talk about anything, and not to feel like they are intruding on anyone's turf or unwelcome. Of course many probably aren't interested.

Microsoft Corp. quickly shut down Santa Claus' Web privileges after it found out the automated elf it created for kids to instant message with was talking naughty, not nice.

Don't forget, we get a LOT more views than posts...so I like to think of it as the cranky-nns-Bro-Edie show, not thread. :p I am, of course, kidding. And now we've added C'dale to the troupe...
We've been quite narrowly focused today, so new topic:
Who is your favorite game show host?
Mine, hands down, is Chuck Woolery. I will let out a little personal detail...I like to watch the Game Show Network...for one, I can actually watch in the presence of my children. Two, the World Series of Poker is on at night. I like that too, occasionally.
Here's why I like Chuck, he's tall, dark and handsome (for a game show host), and he's totally goofy. I was watching Greed the other night...and he was talking to a contestant:
Chuck: So, you breed roses for a living?
Contestant: Yes I do, Chuck
Chuck: So...how do you get'em in the mood?
Favorite Game Show, however, goes to The Match Game from the 70's, that is actually in reruns on the game show channel. So, clearly, I waste a lot more of my time than just here...:p

I want to talk about gingerbread recipes. I want to make gingerbread houses from scratch with my kids this weekend, and I need a good recipe for gingerbread. Anyone have one? Seriously.

Question: you're not planning to eat it are you? I did that once --to get the right consistency to actually build something with....makes it taste like crap. Unless I just don't like gingerbread cookies or something.
You know, you can buy kits...unless you're set on doing it from scratch. Try the food network website. All I can remember is you have to buy blackstrap molasses or something like that....and you will NEVER use it again.

Seriously.Do you mix and pour? Or do you bake gingerbread bricks? Sounds like a fun project, if it doesn't end in a disastrous mess. Keep us posted. Pics would be good.
I can somehow imagine your previous avatar, with a construction helmut on, building it though, rather than your current one.:p

My kinda girl. Now you're talking. Always go for the kit TFF. :D
Pretty cool of you to take on that endeavor actually. Impressive.
Sorry I can't help. I agree those are great sites offered up by ED and NNS. And, there are probably some mags currently on newstands with them as well. Martha Stewart Living, Southern Living, etc. Also, I've seen some specialty holiday baking mags on stands.
I really would like to hear what you end up doing and how it goes, so please do come back and let us know.

Well let's see the DP vs CF head-to-head for the last year....Edie...what a piece of science you just sourced...great detective work. And perfect timing as usual.. right up there with the "Boonen the Barbarian" picture.
Now this needs to go in the Bobke thread, the Bike cafe, the Bloody soap Box, the Joke forum, everywhere we can get the news out. Even DPF.

Now, see, this is what it was like during my tenure...we were the second largest Greek system then...but so many houses got booted off campus because of that era, plus one fraternity DID burn their house down -- shooting bottle rockets at their pledges inside the house at 5 am, that then it dropped to third.
You know who's first don't you....friggin O-H-I-O...
