Hey Cranky, I got stuck over on the fuentes thread...
Youve done such a great job as keeper of this thread! I havent been able to participate as I would have liked since Im now on a bunch of committees at work which take up all the time I used to use perusing CF, among other things...
As far as pro cycling, yeah I still think current events are a let down. Although, I try not to care as much. And eventhough doc is long gone, the impact of his posts have lingered on. Ive been watching figure skating and thinking to myself, "i wonder if he's doped. or so and so must be on peds because there is no way her emaciated figure could otherwise sustain a four minute program... etc., etc., etc." Damn him! It bites! ok, im being dramatic, but seriously, i used to totally enjoy professional sports. I feel like a little kid discovering there really is no santa claus! We realize you're busy. We enjoy seeing you in here though, so whenever you can find a spare 15-30 minutes, just drop in and fill us in on what's happening or just stick it to me or Bro if you don't have anything else to say. We don't mind.
I don't know about "keeper of this thread". More like "creeper of this thread". There seems to be more people coming in occasionally which is great. But myself, nns, Bro, Edie, TFF, jhusk, and our newest member C'Girl, now are in here the most.
Be careful labelling anyone anything like a "thread keeper" in here though. I said a few days back that I wasn't a mod and I got chastised for even using the term "mod" in my own sentence. Cycling Forums members pride themselves on not needing to be moderated as you know. I am a proud advocate of this philosophy as well - as I know you are.
I hope your work calms down - unless you are getting or have been promoted at the same time and/or are enjoying new riches.
I hear you on the increased cynicism watching professional sports. The whole Fuentes OP thing that extended to multitudes of athletes outside cycling, and Fuentes history, and now I'm even aware from this forum that the Finnish long distance runners of the seventies were blood-doping. Its a little disappointing putting it mildly.
But things will get better.:) Eventually.

Looks like I was too late on that request.
Or you're not making pancakes for me anymore.:(
Like you're gettin' pancakes on Monday...:p Hope those Pop-Tarts were ok.;)
So my kids get the day off school because of ice...and I don't. How much does that suck? Good thing I could ship them off to Grandma's for the rest of the day...and hopefully most of the evening too...:D

I was apologizing for giving you so much crap that day over the "moderator" comments...I realize that I'm so much of smart-ass that when I say "sorry Cranky" it sounds sarcastic, LOL. I was being nice...buuuut...I can always find a different avatar...hmmm, let me see...

Okay...this avatar is a girl who rules! :pI'm sorry but, notwithstanding her beauty, Linda Carter as Wonderwoman to me was one of the most subservient housewife personas of all women superheroes. She sent most of the feminists back a few steps on the "Martha Burk Plan For World Domination" IMHO.
Then again, I was only about 12 when I last watched that show.
Looking back, that might have been a short era when whimpy superheroes were in vogue. Greatest American Hero, Wonderwoman, Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, all seemed to coincide with the age of disco, ABBA, John Travolta and the Bee Gees.

For that dominant, but sexy (if that's possible) persona, you should maybe go with the Michelle Pfeiffer version of Catwoman. I'd listen to her.;)

I can't even remember that! I just remember her going Isis, Isis, Isis....
Well...let's see...subservient isn't usually an adjective ascribed to me. This won't do. I really kinda want to be Elastigirl. I think stretchy arms would be very beneficial for housework and especially chasing kids!

Next thing you know everyone will be saying that Crankyfeet thinks he's a moderator. Nothing could be further from my inner ethos. This is what I actually said in post #1409:
"Its not like I'm the Vaughn Trevi of the FID thread."
Read it a few times.
OK. I will admit I was acting like a jerk. But it was a bad time of the month for me.

This was the best I could do on short notice...LOL!!! :DSorry....won't do. Is that you in a $30 halloween costume?
I said Michelle Pfeiffer....in black BTW....giving that hypnotic stare. Nothing less is worth the effort.
Then again...don't worry about it....I don't want you to have total power over me...that would be dangerous.

You cannot be serious...Jamie Sommers was not a wimp! As for the Six Million Dollar Man...I actually have...I almost can't even say this...a copy of the fan letter I wrote to Lee Majors... I will agree with you on The Greatest American Hero...whatever.
Now we have HellBoy. Bit different...

OK nns, what is that....? That's not the version of Hellboy that I'm familiar with.
