Rest Between 20 min interval
In Dr. Coggan and Allens book they have a 15min rest interval between 20 mi intervals for sweet spot but 10 min rest for L4. THis seems long is there a physiological explanation? In addition I have read on this forum of ppl taking a 5 min rest between 20 min intervals. thanks

Your overall AP, NP and efficiency of your workouts will be higher if you take shorter rests, but from an adaptation standpoint the rest interval doesn't really matter for longer efforts like L4 work.

It is a fair question though. I used to worry about all kinds of minutiae like that (sp?) before I saw the forest (and it was green :D ).

Rest Between 20 min interval
One could argue that the rest between intervals or blocks is akin to a proper cooldown after a ride. I find that getting off the bike immediately after a hard effort is not good for me. Thus, I make a conscious effort to keep moving my legs.
