What might a training plan that focuses on raising FTP during the winter look like? I know, I know, plans will vary widely and depend on time available, etc. But I'm curious how it might differ from an SST/CTL Focus. Whether such a plan is wise to follow is another question...with the answer being: it depends, of course. :)

I'm certainly no expert, but I believe an SST focused plan is a plan that focuses on raising FTP.

SST and maybe some pure L4 work each weak is a "push up" approach to raising FTP that also does a good job of building CTL. It's really pretty simple, do most if not all of your training somewhere in a broad SST range(e.g. 80-95%). Work the shorter days near the top end, longer days nearer the middle or low end and get as much of this per week as you can without burning out and quitting.
Do this long enough and consistently enough and both your CTL and FTP will rise,

The relationship between CTL and FTP is quite clear as shown in the attached graph.
