Saw a couple of young blokes hit the deck at a Austral meet a few years ago, equally as wince-inducing to watch. From memory, the crowd gave them a round of applause when they got back on the track bikes.

This happened right in front of where I was sitting last night. One of only
a number of dramatic moments.......Brown's finish in the 50 lap point race
was stunning.
