Which foreign riders will be most vulnerable to this? Valverde?
Bettini is probably sweating about now.

No not Bettini. Valverde will sweat, maybe Contador....

Damn Basso must be enjoying this one. I assume he's safe as he's already 'confessed'.
Valverde, Contador, what about the Liquigas boys including DiLuca?

Is he trying to make a name for himself or is someone being targeted?
Trivia question: Who is the last TDF winner that is not under harsh scrutiny at this time?
I am not talking about suspicion or rumor, but who might be investigated.

Indurain.
Ettore Torri is making a name for himself but... he is also the one who banned the first non-cyclist because of Puerto (I forgot the name, I blieve it was an Italian Track and Field athlete). I am sure he is targetting Spanish riders especially Valverde. Italy doesn't like it that Basso is banned while others are still racing. Since the Tour comes to Italy this year it will be interesting to see how this will develop.

Astana has several OP riders. This cannot be good for them. :D

The latest is that Torri also wants to question several European football- and tennis players and ofcourse there is the ticking timebomb of the Austrian lab: several German cross country ski athletes and cyclists from all over Europe are allegedly involved... and the... Russian maffia. Its said that Austrian NADA was threatend by them... Its still a lot of rumours and gueswork but I have my teeth in the story.

Hamilton, Botero, Sevilla... Ball? This could be fun in a twisted way.
I do feel sorry for the riders, such as Grajales, Ollerenshaw that joined the team this year - before the news about Hamilton, Botero.... came out.

I don't think Hamilton can be sanctioned.
The WADA code is a little ambiguous but the way I read it, any doping that takes place before a positive does not count as a new offense. It can only be used to increase the sanction if the sanction for the previous offense is more severe. Since there is only one punishment in cycling (two years), Hamilton has already served his time.
Sevilla and Botero have already been exiled to the backwater of cycling. What more could CONI do. :D

More likely it will Leipheimer. Klodi will go down for involvement with Freiburg.

Could he be sued by people who give money to his fund?

I am not sure if Hamilton testified under oath during his hearing. And it wasn't an actual court proceeding. I don't know what the law is in regards to private arbitration. I would hazard a guess and say it seems very, very unlikely he would be prosecuted.
I am sure he could be sued for his fund; but since he spent the money on his defense, there would not be much to be gained.

I was thinking Armstrong. Say what you want about him but it is only "sticks and stones". He seems to be teflon coated.
It's nice to have money and influence. Again I think the situation will get worse for cycling and just when I thought we had hit bottom.
btw: I heard a little from Jan today. It seems that he is enjoying family life in the Alps.

:eek:Whoa. Torri going after the Spaniards in Puerto (on the biggest Italian radio news network it was stated that CONI was reopening Puerto due to its ' dissatisfaction with the manner in which the Spanish Federation handled matters and to deal with the fact that Spanish riders had been protected from becoming involved in Puerto ' (or something to that effect).
A good year for CONI to wield a big stick, potentially excluding riders from Giro, Tour and World Championships beyond San Remo and Lombardia (to name a few).
And Torri clearly wants to make a name for himself - he has gone after Italian track and field olympians and would truly make it to the big leagues if he can finally haul in some soccer players...
Mamma mia.

We might have hit the bottom, the Austrians are doing everything they can to get the Vienna Lab case under the carpet...
I will call Strohband tomorrow morning, send him a fax yesterday. Very small but nice developement for Jan...

If this moves forwards, does it mean another retirement for Bruyneel?
