Winter Beach Run Delay?

The last minute, poorly publicized week delay in the running of the Winter Beach Run in Jacksonville
Beach, FL, is so rare in road running that I can't help wonder what caused it to occur. Does anyone
have any insights?

C'mon now, it's Florida fer christs sakes, they got ACTUAL winter weather in febuary and freaked
out. I think they hit a new low of 35 degrees. So they canceled the winter run. Thank those idots
for the chimp in the white house too!
