AcossTheBay/Houlihan's 12K: Experience?
Anyone know the course? I understand it's hilly...but just how hilly? I'm trying to get a sense of
the general number of inclines and exactly where they are spread throughout the race....i.e fairly
evenly? And opinion on the biggest challenge within the race? Wind across the bridge perhaps?
I'm in NYC and flying out to the San Francisco for this race in effort to clock a 45:00 and get a
subseeded slot for the BayToBreakers in May. I could do it on a flat course.....however it will come
down to the wire w/hills and wind factored in if it's appreciable....

I ran it in 1999. The most significant hill is the second mile, leading up to the bridge. The
year I did it, there didn't seem to be much wind on the Golden Gate Bridge; it was a good
opportunity to recover from the hill. Once you come off the bridge, I think it's just kind of
rolling until the end, with a short, steep hill right before the finish. Good luck!
