:confused: I want to take a cycling vacation and want to do so on a budget. Does anyone know of any great multi day events they have tried and enjoyed? Example: Cycle Oregon, Cycle Washington.
I live in California and our riding is outstanding but I want to see a new state. Maybe Montana, Maine, Vermont, Illinois???

Tour de Wyoming; CANDISC (North Dakota, you'll be pleasantly surprised)
Both highly recommended

I did a Bike Vermont vacation a few years ago, and really enjoyed it. They have several routes. Basically we rode from Bed and Breakfast to Bed and Breakfasts.
I'm doing the Bike Across Kansas this year. It comes highly recommended by some people who ride it every year.

What does "on a budget" mean for you?
If you are open to sleeping under the tent, there are a good number of bike tours to do like:
1) the Grand Tour (http://www.velo.qc.ca/voyages/index_e.php?code=grandtour), 7 days organized by Velo-Quebec ($725 CDN);
2) the Cycling the Erie Canal (http://www.ptny.org/canaltour/)tour, 8 days ($520 USD or free if you are willing to participate as a volunteer);
3) the Great Waterfront Trail Adventure (http://www.waterfronttrail.org/gwta_web/), 8 days ($300 CDN);
4) the RAGBRAI (http://www.ragbrai.org/), 7 days ($125 USD).
Cheers,
Ron
