Well, after postponing my previous attempt after getting stung by a bee after just 8 miles, I
finally plucked up courage and cycled to Norwich and back - 54.7 miles on the pooter and 3200 Cals
on the HRM. Had a pleasant 2 hours in the city doing some shopping, and had coffee and sticky bun
(badly needed carbs) with the family (they drove in - Lardies...hehe).

A year ago I was a sedentary, 16st, two pack a day smoker - so I'm pretty pleased with myself for my
progress (I'm an ex smoker now, and down to 13st). The old legs are a little sore this evening, but
some stretching has certainly eased the pain - along with a celebratory glass of wine or two ;)

I found some of the cycle routes into Norwich a bit confusing to say the least - at one point
cyclists are sheparded by road markings across a junction and dumped into a copse of trees - the
route just disappears into thin air! Anyone better informed than me here who can offer the
definitive route from the Norfolk Showground to the City Centre?

Half of the route I took is marked out for a Leukeamia Fund Bikeathon - I guess that's tomorrow -
had I known I might have got involved; next time maybe.

Anyway, great day for a ride - not too hot, not too windy and beautifully sunny.
