I just picked up a 63cm Trek 1500. It's got Mavic CPX 30 rims on it with Ultrgra hubs. Picked up some Ultrgra pedals with nice CF Shimano shoes. I am looking for a new seat. I broke the stock seat, don't ask how. I liked it.
Can anyone suggest a comfortable seat for a bigger guy?
Thanks.

AS an unusual suggestion, what about a Brooks leather saddle..super tough and comfortable afte they've been broken in. Sheldon brown has some interesting chat about them: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/saddles.html. I am 100 kilos and 6'4" and i Like mine...it's heavy but i think i should worry about losing 10kilos myslef rather than 250g on a saddle!!

I would suggests Brooks as well but ensure you get it from a place that has a replacement policy if your bumm doesn't like it. IME, people either love 'em or hate 'em. I have tried twice to use a Brooks. A Swallow and a Swift and I couldn't get used to them. I also am .1 offa ton+.

I've heard people recommend the San Marco Rolls and Regal saddles for larger riders. By extension, you should be able to find a NOS or lightly used steel-railed Selle Italia Turbo on ebay.
The Turbo is my all time favorite for comfort, but its steel rails make it kind of heavy by today's standards. There's an alloy-railed version, too, but it should be used only by lightweights, and then only on race day. The rails used to bend and break.

Specialized saddles, sold by LBS dealers, come in three sizes....believe the largest is 143 mm wide. Also, Selle San Marco has a sizing system now, and make several seats for big guys. You can check them out on their website. Brooks certainly have their fans, are wider than the typical italian race saddle, and should hold up as they are stoutly built. Like Peter, I've never liked them much, but might be just your thing. Plan on some miles to adjust and get used to any saddle; more to break-in the Brooks.
Agree you'll want cr-mo steel rails, not ti.
