Hi,

I have a specialized hardrock with RST Gilla Plus T7, 100mm, Cro-Mo steerer, 30mm stanchions, coil MCU w/ preload adjust forks.

My mate has just said that they are not the best' would you recomend a recreational Mbkr like me get a new set? The ones that I look at are about the price of my bike !!!

If you aren't doing the type of riding that needs a better fork, yet, then save your money for the time being ... some forks probably cost TWICE what your bike cost!

So, start to watch eBay for a used MARZOCCHI fork (my recommendation, FWIW) -- it will be considerably lighter & may have more travel and/or better rebound characteristics -- expect to pay at least $100 for a good, used fork ... maybe less, easily more.

Check http://www.mtbr.com/reviews/ to get rider feedback on most of the forks that have been sold.
