Paceline down? theories?

Since 2001, over 90,000 cyclist's have joined Cycling Forums to discuss topics from general cycling to equipment, training, racing and travel or vacation destinations (especially in europe during the tour de france). We also feature an great deals in our online store, 100's of articles, classifieds and product reviews.

Regarding cycling journalism, there are a few journos out there who call it as they see (as opposed to those who call it like they wish to see it).
I don't think there is much money in real news in the U.S. People barely read. They can tolerate thirty second new reports on the evening news, and that's about it. CNN could have been twenty-four hours of McNeil-Lehrer New Hour, where stories are given ten to fifteen minutes, or Frontline, which is an investigative journalism program that spends an hour on one subject. Instead it is just like the crappy evening news rerun every half hour all day.

Cable news revenue must be highly reliant on these 24/7 stories. They are willing to jump on anything: hurricanes, criminal trials, scandals, etc. The news media has become a parody of itself.

That Nancy Grace is on CNN when I'm there a lot. People are just transfixed at her (standing together in front of the screen on the wall) as she goes on, and on, and on, and on about some petty domestic news story where a guy has done something bad to his wife/girlfriend.
