Wasn't the information just that vit C in smokers was lower? Amazing how this can be distorted by
wishful thinking.

Popping Vit C makes you eliminate nicotine faster, and therefore smoke more to maintain addiction
levels. So it's a catch-22.

And the outcomes of taking vit C supplementation and eventual morbidity?

How interesting, (if it's true). There's always a trap :)

I hadn't heard that before. Can you please cite a source for that information?

The only thing that would convince MooShe would be if at her death they took a sample of some still
viable DNA and cloned 20 000 MooShes and compelled 2/3 to smoke with half that group also taking a
large dose of ascorbic acid.
The non-smoking MooShes would be compared to two smoking Mooshe population. The likely result would
be the AA group would fall somewhere between the other two populations in health and lifespans.

Nicotine is eliminated primarily through sweat and urination. Vitamin C acts as a mild diuretic. We
know that the faster nicotine is eliminated, the faster the body requires more of it.
I don't know that one single study has investigated both facts together (they are often referred to,
but I can't say one study combines both, yet), but you can find many articles confirming either one
one individually at Pubmed.
(Normally I'd do all the legwork and research, but since I don't smoke anymore, in this case I'm
just not that interested or affected.)

I see, a simple diuretic like so many other things - coffee and beer being but two examples. Well,
that was interesting.

If that's how you would approach the problem.
But I would be happy for a concensus of studies that showed an effect other than a reduction of AA
in the blood of the passive smokers, however, if you are happy to believe it negates passive smoking
damage, go for it. I will avoid passive smoking wherever possible.
