yet another where to run in New York question

I am moving to NYC soon and I would like to find some running paths before find a lodging. I prefer
soft surfaces to concrete, 2-6 miles circuits, up/down hills are welcome. I found that central park
full circuit is 6 miles, right? I will be working close to FDR Drive Midtown east, on the map I see
a green field between the drive and the east river till Sutton place. Can I run there ? any web
sites with lists are appreciated . thanks paglos

Central Park has varying distances and surfaces. You can run on the bridal path, which is soft or
around the reservior.

Here is a great link of all the distances.

That's dedication :)

Exactly. But Central Park has a ton of different trails, so you can do all sorts of distances by
combining them in different ways. It's truly great for running - I loved it dearly when I was
living in NYC.

I don't know about the East River but another thing you might want to try is the Hudson River
Greenway - a continuous path from the GW Bridge all the way down to Battery Park, mostly across
parks and greenery and always right by the river - highly recommended :)

Also, do the bridges. Nothing quite like running across the Williamsburg bridge in the morning, with
the sun lighting up the river below... aaah

have fun, ni"no no no i'm not homesick"na

Are you people nuts? This is NEW YORK were talking about, just step outside and yell "Puerto Ricans
suck big fat ones" and before you know it you'll have a whole crowd to run with/from.
