I was wondering if any one here is a form the Hampton Rodes Area? I
was trying to figure out a good route from Hampton, VA to
Williamsburg.

You didn't say where in Hampton you are starting, or where in Williamsburg
you want to end, so the best I can suggest to take Jefferson Ave (Rt 143)
[turns into US 60 just past Ft Eustis after passing under I-64].

If you are tempted to detour onto the Colonial Parkway, I would recommend
against it -- the "rustic" surface of the roadway (large pebbles in the
concrete) create a very rough surface for bicycle travel. I tried to ride
the Parkway from Yorktown Battlefield to Jamestown, but only made it as far
as Colonial Williamsburg before I couldn't take the vibration any longer.

If you are looking for recreational rides, try stopping at Bike Beat
(4640-9B Monticello Ave) while you are in Williamsburg. They have a rack
full of route maps.

With a proper newsreader (not Gurgle Gropes), the URL is intact and can
be clicked on.

I like long URL's.

I live in the Coliseum area. I haven't done it yet but I'm planning on
going down the Hampton Roads Center Parkway to Wood Ave. to Route 17 to
the Colonial Parkway. From Coliseum to the James River ferry by that
route is about 40 miles.
