Thing I found most interesting was the bit about big guys being able to climb. Something you can see quite easily there. Jan , Lance, Guteirrez at the 06 Giro, Jens Voigt suddenly being able to climb at the tour of Germany. Basso ain't exactly a small guy either. Solers like 70kg or something. Must really piss the flyweights like Rujano (50kg!!) off to see those big heffers dropping him on a mountain.

Can probably add Riis, Indurain to that list.

Jan was very very lithe. Think either Schleck when he won the tour. Basso was always nearly Schleck like skinny. Actually, Ullrich was about Basso, a little bigger, but no doubt he put on quite a few kgs, before he retired.

He did always look a lot smaller in the pictures of him in the years 96-98. But after that (2000 onwards say) I've always been under the impression that his race weight was around 73-75kg...

yeah, that is what I meant. Perhaps 3-5 kgs heavier. Atleast 2 kgs in the arms combined.
