Annoying thumping sound

View Full Version : Annoying thumping sound

Pete @ Eclipse

I get this really annoying pounding sound

"lub dub, lub dub"

thumping in my ears when ever I'm getting to the top of a climb.

It's also accompanied by a strange wheezy rattle.

Any ideas how to stop it? ;o)

Keep cycling till you get fitter and it goes away.

I have a similar illness whereby a reflex action, initiated by the sight of a long uphill climb,
triggers my vocal chords to make a speech-like sound that rhymes with "Clucking Bell"

Dunno, I don't get anything like that but when I ride my tandem to work and pick up a mate I get a
loud wheezing sound from somewhere behind me. Any ideas?

Any idea how long this takes? I've been riding seriously for over 10 years & I still get these
noises :) The difference now is at least half the group is still behind me.

Yes that would stop it, but then after a couple of weeks you'd probably hear voices saying "God,
this place is boring, get me out of here!"

By the time it happens you'll be too old so will start slipping down the field again. Believe me --

Pedal harder. You'll find your vision goes through one of those movie flashback transitions and then
all goes quiet and peaceful and black ;-)
