It certainly demonstrates your personality that you'd believe today's
opinion of HISTORIANS!
I guess that neatly demonstrates your grasp of history.

What does that have to do with cycling?

Let's see: climate scientists aren't to be believed about climate
science, historians aren't to be believed about history, professors of
health policy aren't to be believed about health policy, evolutionary
biologists aren't to be believed about evolution, and economists
aren't to be believed about the economy.

Psst - MOST "climate scientists" deny "global warming". Most of that list of
scientists who AGREE with global warming do not have anything to do with
climate or atmospheric science.

Sorry Tom, I don't see a Truman like reversal of opinion on this one.

It is a fricken NIGHTMARE ZOO at that place! Like a damn busy starbucks! No
other bank around here is like them in terms of the crowds. The cars coming
in and out of this place is like the DMV!! They have 3 ATMs out front that
have a dozen people in line all the time!
The only thing around here that is worse?? The damn Albertsons, they take
WIC, food stamps and all other freebie welfare handouts.

It sound like free enterprise to me. What's your take on that?

I think you need to clarify this a wee bit...

I'm generally speaking in support of free enterprise, but there are
times when common sense and/or govt. restrictions may be in order.
For example, I'm pretty sure I'm solidly against drug dealing, even if
in the strictest sense it is free enterprise. On a similar note, I'm
not sure I'm in support of corporations conducting enterprises that at
worst encourage, or at the least mitigate the hardships of, illegal
immigration.
On another note, where's the liberal outcry over the userous interest
rates that are being charged to these poor, disadvantaged people who
have no where else to turn for credit?

At a glance, it sounds "free" to the extent it fits within the
existing legal paradigm. What if the paradigm changes?
Free banking does not exist in the US.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_banking
In the article, note the so-called Free Banking Era in the US was not
wholesale free banking. Control was shifted to the states.

Yeah, good piece. Bush is also going to veto the update to the GI Bill
because providing a better opportunity to go to college would harm
retention. I'm sure that most of you remember all the commercials
where they played up going to college while active, and getting it,
mostly, paid for as a big incentive. The realitry was, even then, that
duties really didn't allow the time to do it as the were "downsizing"
the military and almost everyone was running with massive manning
shortages, so it was a typical political promise. This time around
it's the Democrat/liberal folks, for whatever reason, looking out for
the troops out at the sharp end, and the Repoublicans and
administration looking out for the "perfumed princes" of the Pentagon,
and their corporate friends.
