I just read on a Dutch bike forum, that Campa will go 11 speed. Th estory
came from a LBS owner. Can anyone confirm: full carbon rd, ceramic jockey
wheels, 11 speed.

Will there be a Nigel Tufnel special edition?

Of course it would be easy to insult me! But would your source prefer me
to believe that he has no mitigating excuse for disseminating such an
unlikely rumor?
Here's the skinny: there are very, very few LBS owners who get special
knowledge of this sort of group-change ahead of the usual rumors sites.
Among other things, I would expect to see that getting tested in the pro
peloton, I'd expect to hear rumors from major sites (Velonews and
Cycling News in English), and I'd expect to hear rumblings that started
around Interbike or Eurobike, those being the big annual trade shows.
I would be very skeptical of such an uncreative* rumor where the first
source was someone who heard it from an LBS owner.
As for the insult, you should hear me when I get started with the
"Hampsten won on the Gavia" and "the official language of the
Netherlands is English" trolls.
Ted and Ewoud over in rbr love them!
*"uncreative" because the gradual progression from 5 to 10 speeds has
been so regular that it's an easy prediction to suggest that, at some
point some maker will no longer be able to resist the temptation to go
to eleven. As long as we're talking about practicalities, 9-to-10 was
already clearly in the Land of Diminishing Returns, and 10-to-11 has a
real chance of being a indisputable trip to the Land of Marketing Crap
That Makes The Bike Worse. To the extent more gears are needed, there's
probably a better case for production quad chainrings. And that's a
pretty weak case.

Well, they're all citizens of the EU now. I can hardly be expected to
tell the difference between wherever Tufnel is from and Dutchland.
At least I remember the name of the Dutch national anthem: "Dutchland
uber Alles."
That's right, innit?

As this thread reveals, the true problem with 11 speeds
is that its introduction to market will never survive the
onslaught of Spinal Tap jokes. These days, a product
that gets a bad rep on intro can no longer survive long
enough to establish itself. For this reason, both S and C
are likely to hold off until technological improvements
allow 12 speed cassettes, and make the jump straight
from 10 to 12.
Ben
Also, 12 speeds will be rendered possible by the
reintroduction of 10mm pitch drivetrains. You heard
it here first.

One problem of this is that a large number of people are fighting the 10
speed conversion. They're still using 9-speeds.
One does realize soon that 10 speeds cover the entire speed regime so that
you never have to change cassettes as you did with 7-speeds most of the
time, 8-speeds occasionally and 9-speed almost never.

Quite so. I've more or less standardized on 9-speed because the
equipment is cheap and cheerful, and in no substantial way inferior to
10-speed.
The other configuration that has reduced the need for cog changes is
compact gearing at the front end. A 50/34x12-25 can do pretty much
everything. A racer might use an 11-23 instead, an clear-eyed
cyclotourist might use 12-27 (or the Sheldon-designed 13-34). In any
case, you wouldn't change those gears.

Could be you delivered the scoop on this.
From the rumors page of theCampyOnly web site-
http://www.campyonly.com/rumors.html
May 25, 2008--First rumors about 2009:
--"Super Record" will return as an 11-speed gruppo. A narrower chain
will let the system work with existing wheels. In addition to
shifting on an 11-speed cassette, the Ergo levers will look different
from current models. Look for limited availability in September, with
more stock coming in October.
--Some wheels will be updated with ceramic bearings and tubular rims
--Some new gruppos may be added (the first in several years)
--Electronic shifting continues to be refined, but don't look for it
in your bike shop next year.

I also heard Ergo's would have blue accents. So everybody will be able to
tell when you're riding with "old stuff" I guess.

The 10-speed stuff wears VERY rapidly already. A narrower 11-speed setup
would be preposterous. I haven't changed from 9-speed and the fact is that
if some company put out a good reliable 9-speed they'd probably steal most
of the business away from Shimano and Campy.
