Local shopping by bike with half a cat basket

Since 2001, over 90,000 cyclist's have joined Cycling Forums to discuss topics from general cycling to equipment, training, racing and travel or vacation destinations (especially in europe during the tour de france). We also feature an great deals in our online store, 100's of articles, classifieds and product reviews.

Hi,
It has been suggested to me that a cycling group might be interested
in this. I had thought cycling groups were purely for the sportive
competitor types, rather than those as might use a bike for sheer
niffty convienence.

Anyhow, the same individual had also suggested I post my 'idea' on
instructables . com.

This group is for all sorts of cyclists. Some are competitors,
others think competition is far too energetic for them.

Of course competitive cyclists may also use a bike to do other
things, like going to the shops in a convenient way.

You're welcome. Note the share-licence... it means you can take it and
tweak the idea about etc
Of course, if you mean the website is a clever idea, I'd have to
agree, but it's not my doing.
If it's the cat basket (my spell checker objects to "catbasket") idea
you like, you could always vote for it, though I think the prizes only
apply within USA and besides, I don't think I stand a cat's chance in
hell against something like the solar powered bike thing.

half-a-cat-basket-rack attachment. I also liked this similar Instructable:

Interesting! I have a similar scheme with an old wooden orange-box,
varnished for weatherproofing, sprayed red and with high-viz strips
put on the corners. It attaches to the tourer and to the Brompton
(sideways on so I don't kick it; the Brommie still stands up on it
when parked). I find it a lot more convenient than panniers for small
loads.
