I wonder how much Assos safety pins cost? Because they'd be better, you know.

That reminds me: I have been experimenting with 3M Super 77 for a few
months now, and it's pretty cool.

On a purely lazy/functional plane, the Super 77 is way less hassle than
pins, and goes on with out being lame and flappy, and comes off easily
when you need it to. I've stopped being worried my number will fall off;
it won't.

That said, the rules are firm and immutable: spray number, wait about
30s, check for non-liquid setup on the number, apply. Too early, and
your number leaves residue behind on the jersey. Too late, and the
number sticks badly.

Most importantly, it looks totally badass to be the guy with a stick-on
number when everyone else is doing the amateurish pin-jobs. And some of
them are more amateur than others.
