I have jogged in the 3.5-4 mile range 21 times since June 27th. That's a total of 38.5 miles over an
11 weeks span. This averages out to about 2 times a week. I can do a 4 mile run fairly comfortably,
but do feel tired near the end.

I did a 68 minute run last week, and it was tough. (Hilly) I estimate it was a 6.5 mile run.

Is there ANY way I can complete a 13 mile run this Saturday? I will walk for 30 mins if I need to. I
just want to finish.

Let me know if this is totally impossible or reckless. Thank you.

You could run 13.2 miles, but you can not race it. Heres whats going to happen-

All the other runners are going to start passing you. Unless you want to be in last place, you are
going to increase your speed (above that of which you could sucessfully complete the run). Lactic
acid will start to build in your blood and muscles. Eventually you will get a horrible cramp, stop
running, and then vomit.

I would advise against racing a half marathon this early.

you did not run before this race. not very many miles run. might hurt yourself. run on soft part of
ground. don't start to fast. pace yourself. breath through your nose and a real zone. and have fun
if you do. what is wrong with this. your longest run was you tired. sounds like sore tired , means
rip and injuries , My opinion is no.

Hardly. I did an impromptu 43 mile walk in 1998, not even knowing it was going to happen until a few
minutes before I started it.

That includes the last 15 miles on a sprained ankle, much of which had to be run as a result in
order to both provide relief and to rest from walking (since walking is a LOT harder than running).
And that was before I even took up running on a regular basis.
