Are there any magnetic, fluid, or whatever trainers that measure your power output in watts? I don't mean those sexy $2000 jobs, but rather something economical...

I've got a Tacx Grand Excel and it works okay, but it reads up to 10% different than Pro Powercranks (and this difference varies with factors such as cadence). I'd say that it's useful, but don't use it to compare to other people on different equipment, and if you're using it to do tests (e.g. ramp tests) then try and use the same cadence and resistance settings each time.

Performance sells a trainer/computer combo that measures power (plus everything else) for approx $299.
