View Full Version : Has anyone seen these type of wheels before
In 2002 for my Specialized Allez comp bike, i got a set of Shimano Wheels c/w wheelbags - the Shimano Product code is WH-7700 and WH-6500 - I think these are Shimano 105, but not sure, On a Club run yesterday no of the people i was with never seen this wheel before. They deep rimmed where the spokes go into the side of the rim - total spokes 16 - and these are flat:)
Hmmm sounds like a pretty good wheel, but I have not seen such type of wheel so far.

Hi there
I'm pretty sure I have a set in the garage. I wasn't real happy with them to be honest, to many broken spokes.
regards

The WH-6500 is the Ultegra equivalent. I don't know the particulars.
This weekend i will upload some Photos. These wheel are Silver Anodised with Silver Hubs, The Spokes are on the outside of the rims, coming out just below the braking area and there is a hole inside the rim, when you replace the spoke, you actaully screw them onto the hub, There are 16 flat spokes (colour black)
I used to have these wheels on the Specialized when it was a time trail bike. now having built the Specialized Ali Comp (1998) frame complete with full Shimano Ultegra Groupset (Note Ambrosio Daul pivot brake) i took the bike out on a club run from my home (harrow,Middx) to Denham (15miles) met up with the rest of them club member and cycled to Abingdon (35mile) which resulted in a total of 100mile. however the bike performed really well during the ride, there was time when a cross wind caught the wheels a little bit, but otherwise find. My main bike is an orbea Asphalt complete with Campagnolo (mixed groupset) custom build.
