Srm pcv help!!!

Can anyone give me a suggestion to help my computer read my PCV...

I have downloaded all the USB drivers and followed all the pdf help files from SRM and I am still left getting this message....

No PCV found at SRM Downloadcable USB. Please make sure the correct Powercontrol version is selected

Before you ask: YES I do have it plugged in and I have tried hitting the MODE button to make sure it is awake.

I am using WINDOWS VISTA which I hear could be the issue- but I am sure there must be away around that.....

I don't have an answer but I have Vista and have no trouble downloading from 2 PCVs

Not sure how to change it but...

Check the firmware on your PCV. I have two and one downloads in to WKO+ like a speeding bullet and the other takes around 5 seconds to decide if it's going to play or not. They're on the same PC, with the same cable and the same software (they're even the same colour!!). The only differnce is that the lightening one has a much later firmware revision.

So my supplementary question is...

Does anyone know how to upgrade the firmware as that could be our answer. I've checked the SRM site for info but it's a bit vague.

PS: It could be a dodgy cable or port. One significantly more expensive to test than the other so try swapping the usb port for one around the back of the PC.

Thanks for your help....through a process of elimination- trying other computers, USB Ports and another PCV it turns out it was the dodgy USB cable....

All sorted...cheers
