Hey everyone,

Just ordered my new bike today, and I'm like a little kid ! I should have it sometime next week, direct from the Felt dealer. It's the '09 Felt Z45 (61cm).
I will most likely do some upgrades on it in the near future like wheels.
Planning on either selling my old Jamis, or keeping it as a beater ride.

Let me know what all of you think.

Thanks,
-Greg

Very nice. Ride it like you would a trailer park skirt: hard, fast, and with no thoughts to the possible consequences.

Now I will finally feel, and know that the only thing that might have some kind of a breakage or a problem on the road is ME :D, finally can focus and put all of my pleasure and energy out on the road. I can not wait! :)

I'd be curious to know how you like it. I guess the Z series is supposed to be more comfy; right?
what bike are you moving from?

gman0482

I am moving up from my 1st bike, a 2000 Jamis Nova 62cm (cyclocross). I got it for $20 about 3 years ago on a yard sale, and tuned it up w/ some road tires. Rescently the back spokes/nipples started snapping off (beyond repair), so it was either throw more $$$ into it, or just get a new bike. I am like a little kid on Christmas right now! Also the shop I went to (and will never go anywhere else) is unbelievable. Real pros and triatheletes that will do everything I need. They ordered directly from Felt. I will post a review on it as soon as I get it and ride it (hopefuly by Monday). :)

I already know that the wheels are not the greatest, so that might be my 1st upgrade.

I already know that the wheels are not the greatest, so that might be my 1st upgrade. Nice bike:p. I'm glad that you went to a shop instead of online. Not only are you getting a bike but you are also getting a wealth of knowledge and support. When you shop on line, all you get is a bike.

Jamis is a good bike. Keep her and fix her up when you have some extra $$. I tracked down my first real road bike ten years ago, after it had been sold in 1986. I was lucky to find her and she is one of my most prized possessions, restored to like showroom condition. I rarely ride her because I am paranoid of marring the finish, but I have a blast when I do take her out.

Wow that's luck. Yea I was even thinking that maybe I can put some new cyclocross tires back on. I'm just mad that the season is ending and its getting colder by the day :(. But that just means I'll be ready for early next year right?

Hey good luck ! I know I can hardly wait for mine (could be as soon as tomorrow). On the picture, it looks like black and yellow color but it's actually carbon fiber clear finish (and yellow).

I can virtually guarantee most cyclocross knobbies won't fit the frame or the brakes.

I was referring to switching back to cyclocross tires on my old bike (Jamis Nova, which is a cyclocross bike) Once I get my new Felt, I will use my old bike as a beater for riding in bad conditions, so might as well throw some cross tires back on.

Has your new steed arrived yet?

gman0482

Still patiently waiting. They said that Felt shipped it out and it should be any day now, (if not today, then they are closed until tues.) so I'm just riding my Jamis and trying not to think about it . I just got a roof rack yesterday so that was good. $250 at BMW dealer, I thought they were supposed to be the expensive ones :)
