View Full Version : Charts for selected Parts of a workout in WKO+?
Hi there
is it possible to create Charts in WKO+ not only for whole Workouts or several workouts, but for a selected Part of a Workout? for example, if i had a race or did some Intervals, i dont want that Warm up and cool down to appear in the power Distribution chart. Same for HR-Distribution or Cadence Distribution chart.
From a analyzing perspective, this would make alot of sence, woulndt it?
otherwise, i would have to record several workouts with my SRM to isolate the "effort" - Part, wich i want to analyze ...
greets and thanks for your inputs

I handle that by maintaining a second 'athlete' in my WKO+ home page called race-test. When I want to analyze only part of a file or export only a part of a file (or multiple separated portions like segments during aerodynamic testing) I select the appropriate portions one at a time with the mouse and copy them to the clipboard (ctrl-c) then paste them into a blank workout for the appropriate day in the race-test 'athlete'.
You create the blank workout by simply double clicking on the appropriate day under the race-test athlete's calendar page and paste the data (ctrl-v) onto their blank graph page. When you've pasted all the segments of interest you can view the journal page to see things like power distribution for the selections of interest or export the new file in csv form for use in Excel spreadsheets for things like quadrant analysis or aero testing.
It's a few extra steps, but it works pretty well for extracting and analyzing portions of a file without having to permanently delete the warmups, cooldowns or other portions.

great answer thank you!!
if there is no other possibility, well...
but:
developpers could have programmed the option of some kind of "Real Time" Charts, with automatically develop and chance depending on the part of the workout you have selected at the moment. So you would be able to take a look at some specific distribution during a selected phase of your workout... i dont get it that this does not exist. For many athletes this feature must be very important i would think...
No argument, that would be a nice feature, as would built in quadrant analysis, Alex's pwr^4 match finding graph and a lot of other features. You should post your idea on the TrainingPeaks forums: Category & forums listing (http://www.trainingpeaks.com/bbs-forum/index.asp?viewgroup=1)
