I used to work for an insurance company. Generally their staff tended to smoke, and were in poor condition overall. Exercise was done by a small minority.
I invite you to tell me your age and weekly mileage so I can send the results to some former co-workers to prove a point.

Couldn't edit my original post, so here's the real deal...
Please submit your age and weekly mileage via a poll
Thanks ev'rybody !!
OK, I couln't get this poll to work either...I don't have the patience, too quick on the keyboard !!
Just reply to my original Post (OP) and I will get this post excised surgically by the Architect (I'm a fan of the Matrix movies)

Merged the two threads.

Tried to add the poll, couldn't find the option, so answers will have to be posted in the thread itself. Looks like the poll has to be added at the time the thread is created.

I'm going to be 49 in a month. I am lucky to get 40 miles a week. Life in progress issues. ;)

I am 51 years old and ride 60 to 75 miles per week April to October and a little less November to March. Just past 2060 miles for 2009 year-to-date.

nothing like it should be at the moment. when i first got my bike i was riding around 200 to 250 a week. seriously, that's all i did.

thinking about making a daily habit of 30 - 50, weekends will have to be back to back centuries and then when i'm a bit more enthusiastic about actually riding a bike again, one day city to cities. houston to college station for instance is 112 miles.

how fitting.

and if the thirties are the new twenties then in about a week i'll be 23.

Thanks everyone who has answered so far, would like a few more responses, but this is all good stuff...tell all your riding pals to post a message if they get time !!
Cheers good people;)

34 and not even enough. While I was deployed I was hitting about 50 - 60 a week on the stationary (because that was all I had access to). Now that I am home I have only been able to get my mountain bike out once and have yet to get my road bike out at all. Not that I don't want to, it's just that I have a "honey do" list a mile long!

Hey Steve,

I am 27 and ride about 100 miles a week. I got into cycling because of my uncle modivating me (plus watching Tour de France helped a little bit too :))

Here's the good part...

My uncle is in Poland. He is 55 years old, and has his own cycling team with 6 of his friends who are all his age. They haven't been riding all their lives, only started about 5 years ago when he turned 50. They have their own special bike truck and go all over Europe.

So to prove your workmates wrong, this is a perfect example.

Keep going !!

I am 79 years old , soon to be 80, and I ride 100 to 200 miles a week if it is above 50 degrees F. In West Virginia where I live that eleminates Dec. Jan. Feb and most of March. During those months I swim one-and-a-half miles a day. That is what bicycling and playing soccer has done for me (google Nelson McAvoy) . This summer I hope to do the RAGBRAIowa.
