Starting in 2000, his 5th year as a pro at the age of 27.

2000 - 8 wins in stage races, including two Vuelta wins and second place in a Giro stage, plus a
classic. 2001 - 5 wins in stage races, including the Bicicleta Vasca. 2002 - 12 wins in stage races,
including one Vuelta win, two Paris-Nice wins, and three different points jerseys. 2003 - 20 wins in
stage races (so far) including all of the Big Three, plus two classics and a points jersey.

Sure, he's gotten better, but his palmares were as impressive by the end of 2000 as Freddy
Rodriguez' are today, frankly.

I wouldn;t call Freddy a great sprinter much less a good one. Above average maybe. He is better as a bike rider I think.
