One month ago I bought orthotics (from a podiatrist) because of shin pain in my left leg when I wear
running shoes. Apparently I over-pronate in both feet. I am now used to the orthotics, but when I
went to buy new running shoes, I still felt the familiar low grade ache in my left shin after about
five minutes of walking around the store. In other words, no difference with the orthotics. Can
anyone advise me if this is normal. If I buy the shoes will the ache eventually subside? Any
information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Shoes make a big difference. For example, a soft, cushy shoe with a rigid orthotic might add to
your troubles.

Have you tried exercises for your shins? Maybe, just walking backward on your heels for 20-30 steps.
