Im just curious if there is a web site (or facility) that allows you to plan a route using cycle
lanes - similar to the RAC/AA sites for motorists?

I'd like one that lets me plan a route that *avoids* roads with cycle lanes!

Is it just me or does everyone else find the Sustrans website unbelievably slow and crap for that
kind of thing. Usually when I try to zoom in I get a completely different area.

There's a Sustrans one on their website, but most of the out of town paths are only suitable for an
MTB. So much for "sustainable transport".

You can find all of the maps that local councils have published here:

Where is that? Around here the out of town Sustrans paths have decent surfaces. Some even have
tarmac surfaces. Of the non-Sustrans paths most are macadamised. There are some of the latter that
do not have good surfaces, which are marked on maps.
