Well, squirrels attacking woman on bicycle anyhow

I was out for my afternoon jaunt and I was cycling up this here hill (yes, we do have them in
Norfolk) and in front of me I heard what can only be described as the sound I imagine a duck would
make if trying to lay an ostrich egg... this was accompanied by nuts raining down on the road in
front of me. I looked up and there on a branch were two squirrels making the most obscene noises at
me and throwing their nuts at me (oooh-err Missus...).

It's bad enough with the way some motorists endanger us but when the local wildlife enters into the
fray, it's a bit bad

Cheers, helen s ;-)

Thought I was going to get attacked by a badger Monday morning at 6 am on my offroad commute through
the woods. Saw some eyes reflected up ahead, flicked on the 20W to see what it was and instead of
running off in the opposite direction the aforementioned badger ran straight towards me before
veering off about 20 feet infront of my front wheel on what I guess must have been its favourite
path into the undergrowth.

The one that lives near us terrorises our cats - it's been seen chasing one of them around!

I know people who've had accidents caused by badgers and by muntjac. Just because they're wildlife
they think they own the countryside <grumble grumble>

Last night on a road section two tiny deer had a try, they had cat sized bodies but longer legs - so
small we could've ridden over them without falling off, but we braked instinctively and they got
away. I suppose they'd read in their Dingly Dell copy of the CTC runs list that we'd finished night
rides for the season, so they thought they could come out and play!

Try riding into a cow. I hear it's painful.

I thought at least you had come across some vagrant roasting & consuming squirrels by the road side
-- I'm sure it happens often in Narfuk.

Or at least some wild mutant squirrels that hunt human flesh.

But no -- just some ordinary squirrels flashing their nuts at you.

Maybe they are the PSF's of the squirrel world.

I trust he was eating them in a pie.

Our cats, 2 siamese (and ruthless with it but still very afectionate), regularly terrify our local
squirrel population.

I often come home from work to a dismembered squirrel, identifiable from its tail, if nothing else.
