View Full Version : Raleigh Royal
Hi
I have a Raleigh Royal which has a problem with the bottom bracket it periodically comes loose due to the thread having been cross threaded at manufacture this wears out the chainwheel etc.
I like this bike and would buy a new one if still available i can find nothing new that matches its specs. I would like to restore it but don't want to replace the chainwheel block chain on a yearly basis. any suggestions ?
I believe a cassette type bottom bracket type is available that tightens to itself not using the internal thread can anyone give me information about these.

**** I happen to have a Raleigh Royal hanging in my garage, virtually unused. It was bought just before the family stopped cycling and I have kept it carefully for the day when I would take up cycling again, which I know now that I never will. Yes, it is a superb bike and deserves to be used by a more worthy owner. Would you be interested in mine?
Hi
Im in england Nottingham where are you?
If its a 25"(640mm i think) frame and were not to far away i would be interested.
thanks
Simon
Sadly, it's a 23.5" frame.
Would it interest anyone else?
Denis
Denis,
Do you still have your Raleigh Royal?
Gaynor
Yes, but I need to free up space soon.
Better e-mail me.
I am in Yorkshire by the way.

There is a 25" Raleigh Royal for sale on ebay - it's got about 1.5 days to go. I think it's up to about £175 but hasn't reached it's reserve yet. It includes a MAG 500 turbo trainer. Only problem is it's in Kent!
Happy hunting
Gaynor
Hi Denis
I've e-mailed you twice now, but according to the tracker you haven't read them. Have you received them? Have you received this?.....Hmm, how long is that piece of string!
Sorry it's late and I'm babbling. Contact me if you get this, and you still have the bike.
Cheers
Gaynor
