Nissan, like Bianchi, are appalling
View Full Version : Nissan, like Bianchi, are appalling
I have a work truck, a 1989 Nissan.
It's got 156,000 miles on it and last week the window mechanism on the passenger side broke. It
won't roll up anymore.
I tried going into get it fixed even though the warranty had expired at 36,000 miles, but they
wouldn't fix it.
What sort of manufacturer won't stand behind their product? What a crap company. I am entitled to
something - I am traumatized at having to drive around with the window down.
This is a travesty.

Well then, you know what to do. Stage a rollover accident and have your lawyer video tape the
"trajedy".
Remember your friends when the bucks roll in.

You could also get your lawyer to tape the tragedy.

Did it fulfil what could be reasonably expected of a product of this type? Answer is yes. No claim.
My frame: same question. Answer no. Which part of that is beyond the grasp of your microscopic
intellect?

The other window works perfectly well.
I am dismayed that Nissan refuses to stand behind their product after the warranty has expired.
Hopefully none of you will consider buying Nissan when shopping for a new automobile - clearly they
are a shameful company set out to ripoff their customers.
The Nissan could still be used for its primary purpose: driving.
The frame could no longer be used for its primary purpose: it was considered too dangerous to do so
by an expert.

Dumbass -
We don't give a **** about your truck warranty problems.
We like Nissan. They saved the economy of Smyrna Tennessee, probably with the $$$ they made from
Dumbasses like you.
Please post your truck purchase problems to a group where someone cares.
Thank you very much for your cooperation and have a nice day.

My Nissan is no longer driveable. I am petrified to ride around with a stuck window - it is very
dangerous. An expert told me so.

So this is your claim to being evil? Robert was joking and you took him literally.

Perhaps Justin Lewis is the offender here and not Robert, but I still find it a bit distressing.
-Sonarrat.
WOW! Only 156,000 miles! What a shame. Oh yeah...and only 14 years old! I can't believe a part on
your 14 year old truck broke.
That is incredible!
When was the last time you had your truck maintained by a certified Nissan technician?
I would hunt him down and kick his butt. He probably sabotaged the window regulator just to
%^&* you off!
I hate to hear your sob story about a defective, 14 year old, probably abused "work truck".
My 1989 Dodge Dakota lasted about 1 year before it started having all kinds of problems. I wish it
had lasted 14 years before something broke.
What a moron!!!!!

This will be the third time I've asked you this question, since you've apparently chosen to ignore
it the previous two times:
Does Bianchi's one year warranty extend across their whole product line, or only on certain products
designed for high performance racing? I do not believe that high performance racing products would
fall under a category 'durable goods' as defined by greater than 1/2 decade of use.
Yeah, I thought he was a joke. Seemed a little nutso to me.

Actually I suspect it's an Italian thing. I bought a new Ducati 998 this year in May and it's been in the shop for warrenty work three of the five months I had it. Plus when I bought it there was a giant strip of paint on the front of the gas tank that was ripped off, the dealer said, "you'd be surprised what the Italians will let slide outta their factories."
Like all Italian things though, it is beautiful and worth the quirks. All work was covered under the warrenty and the dealer let me ride another bike while mine was in the shop so it's cool.
Had 279,000 on my '86 TBird turbo coupe, all on original turbo. What did it in? Michigan winters and
salt, for the most part, a broken motor mount eventually. My '98 Dakota needed a new alt and front
seal at < 70,000. I'm wondering if it'll last until paid off.
OTOH, my bikes seem have considerably shorter livespans. Constant run of parts on MTB, but that's
the nature of it's intended use. Road bikes, less parts, but tires and tubes should be bought by the
dozen, sheesh.

I do not know the answer to this question. I
did not imply that one should expect more than five years use: upto.
On similar products (regards quality and price) other manufacturers (such as Cannondale) offer
lifetime guarantees.
I therefore suggest that simply offering a warranty of one year is not sufficient to limit the
manufacturer's liability for defects to that period only. A more specific warning is appropriate.
